Document Management
Turning boxes of paperwork into organized digital files
Paperwork can pile up quickly. I help turn those stacks and boxes into digital files that are easier to find and use. I scan, name, and organize your documents, then upload them to your chosen cloud storage that you provide.
What Working With Me Looks Like
We’ll discuss your documents and how you would like them organized before you send them. You’ll work directly with me, with requests, instructions, and updates handled by email. Whether you have a small stack or several boxes, we can work through it in manageable stages.
Who This Is For
This service is for individuals and small businesses who want help scanning paperwork, organizing digital files, or making documents easier to locate. You don’t need to have everything perfectly sorted before reaching out.
Getting Started
Start by contacting us. Tell me approximately how much paperwork you have, what you would like done, and which cloud storage you use. Please don’t include sensitive documents or account passwords in your initial inquiry. I’ll reply by email to discuss the work and shipping arrangements before you send anything.
Shipping and Your Original Documents
You are responsible for shipping your documents to me. I encourage tracking and checking with your shipping carrier about available insurance and what it covers. If you would like the originals returned, request this by email; return shipping will be billed to you.
After uploading your files, I’ll email you to review them and confirm your return or shredding instructions. The agreement includes advance permission to securely shred originals remaining after 60 days from that email, with a reminder at least 14 days before shredding. Report any missing files or scanning concerns before the deadline so we can address them before the affected originals are shredded.
Pricing
Document management is $25 per hour, including time spent preparing, scanning, naming, organizing, and uploading your files. We’ll discuss the expected time before work begins, and I’ll keep you updated as the project progresses. For shipping, please see prior section.
Service Agreement
Before you send documents, I’ll email a short agreement for you to review and sign. It confirms the work, pricing, your authority to have the documents processed, and how your originals will be handled.
Keeping a Backup
Once your files are delivered, I encourage you to keep an additional copy on your own external drive. Cloud storage is helpful, and a separate backup gives you another way to access your documents.
